Koi fish are smart, gorgeous and can live a very long time. Some have been known to live up to 35 years. These Koi fish are also known as ornamental carp, and have been bred for their colorful patterns, especially when viewed from above.

One of the most significant things in any pond are the plants. They help maintain a healthy environment, supply food and protection for fish and add beauty to your pond. The different types of pond plants include deep water plants, oxygenating plants, marginal plants, floating plants and bog plants.

I have found that goldfish are probably one of the easiest fish to care for. Some goldfish have been known to live more than 50 years.
